What a gal

Dorothy Parker (1893-1967) was an author, poet, screenwriter, humorist, critic and defender of human and civil rights.  In her time, she was published in Vanity Fair, Vogue and The New Yorker.  Not bad considering her formal education ended at the age of 13.  She was also a thirsty spirit.  Here’s what she had to say about martinis:

I like to have a martini,

Two at the very most.

After three I’m under the table,

after four I’m under my host.

  2. Sounds like a really great woman. I think I will have to make a martini for breakfast!

    She also said:
“Three be the things I shall never attain:
    Envy, curiosity, and sufficient champagne.”

  4. Hi Jerry,No stiprlights, just a white shoot-through umbrella for the main light and a bare speedlite (with maybe a 1/4 CTO gel on it) for the hair/rim light. The top photo used window light from the front and a speedlite for the hair.
